Super Sax Sunday- Sunday July 20th 2014

This day is for saxophone players of all ages and abilities– school students, teachers, university students, and community musicians. The day will be run by guest artists Jessica Voigt and Dr Stephen Page, who are visiting from the USA. It will feature masterclasses, forum-style discussions, an all in saxophone ensemble, and a concert to conclude the day with performances by the Super Sax Sunday ensemble and Jessica and Stephen.

About Jessica and Stephen:
Jessica Voigt is an Australian saxophonist currently residing in the United States. She graduated from the
University of Iowa in 2013 with a Master of Arts in Music Performance where she studied with Dr. Kenneth Tse, and
completed a Bachelor of Music Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts (2009), with an Honours degree
from Monash University (2010), under the direction of Dr. Michael Lichnovsky. Jessica has performed, presented
and competed across both Australia and the United States as a soloist and chamber musician, and is currently
working as a freelance musician and music teacher in the United States. In 2014, Jessica will be featured as a guest
artist at the Colorado Mesa University Single Reed Day and hopes to begin working on her first solo CD.
Described by noted American composer Libby Larsen as “fearless on stage,” saxophonist Stephen Page has
garnered international prominence as one of the leading saxophonists of today’s younger generation . Dr. Page has
appeared across three continents, in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Canada, and across
the United States. Currently residing in Colorado and serving as Assistant Professor at Colorado Mesa University, He
has earned degrees from the University of Minnesota, the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and the
University of Iowa, having studied under Eugene Rousseau, Otis Murphy and Kenneth Tse, respectively.
Stephen Page is a Yamaha Performing Artist, as well as a Rico/D’Addario Artist. He plays Yamaha Custom EX
instruments, Eugene Rousseau Mouthpieces, and Rico Reserve Reeds.
